Mouse, Money, Ghost
Lin, a sex worker who has always been underestimated now sends money home; Mr. Mouse, her client, with whom she falls in love with, grieves the loss of his late son; Ming, Lin’s brother, a failed academic, recently lost his wife to cancer. Sarah, his sister-in-law, blames traditional Chinese medicine for her sister’s death and is distraught over it; and finally, Feng, a YouTuber that devours mice on camera meets Sarah through a dating app.
Lin, Ming, Sarah, Mr. Mouse, and Feng—all five characters are adrift between worlds, harboring longings, searching for hope and stability. A web slowly unravels that connects them all within their shared struggles: exclusion, isolation, social constraints, and their own fate and history. Which ghosts of the past haunt us, and which will remain ghosts in the future?
